We know the referee who was appointed to referee the PSG – Bayern meeting on Tuesday. It is the Italian Daniele Orsato who will be at the whistle.
The UEFA disclosed this Sunday the identity of the referees who will officiate Tuesday evening on the occasion of the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League, between PSG and Bayern Munich. And they are old acquaintances of the Ile-de-France club.
A meeting which will be refereed by the experienced Daniele Orsato, accompanied by his assistants Alessandro Giallatini and Fabiano Pret. Video assistance will be provided by Massimiliano Irrati and Marco Guida.
Daniele Orsato (45) was on the whistle last August for the final of the previous C1 in Lisbon. He therefore did not leave a very good memory to the Parisians, then defeated 0-1 by the Bavarians.
A referee who no longer needs to be presented
The Italian also refereed Paris last November during the opposition against Manchester United. A meeting that had smiled on the champions of France. However, the man in black had been singled out for not having directly expelled Fred, who did a bad gesture on Leandro Paredes.
Orsato is still considered one of the best referees on the circuit. In 2020, he was even voted the best of his corporation by the IFFHS. He has been an international referee since 2010 and his first big tournament was the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
As a reminder, Paris has an advantage of a goal to defend against Munich. On the first leg, at the Allianz Arena, Mauricio Pochettino’s men won 3-2.
