Olympique Lyonnais are said to have their sights set on a Ligue 1 coach for the succession of Rudi Garcia, whose contract ends next June.
Les Gones would consider attracting Christophe Galtier, the current coach of Lille, to the bench, according to the newspaper’s information The Parisian. The Rhone club would continue to appreciate the 54-year-old technician, linked until June 2022 with the LOSC.
Our colleagues specify that the collaboration between Olympique Lyonnais and Rudi Garcia should end at the end of the 2020-2021 season. For now, the third in Ligue 1 has not sealed the departure of the former technician from Olympique de Marseille, President Jean-Michel Aulas having indicated that no decision has been taken and that no discussion has not been initiated with other coaches. Until then, Lyon’s leaders have always explained that the fate of Rudi Garcia will be decided when taking stock of this exercise.
Remained cautious about his future, Christophe Galtier has been on the bench of the current runner-up of Paris Saint-Germain since December 2017. The Marseillais will undoubtedly not remain insensitive to this desire coming from Groupama Stadium, even if his management will do everything to keep it and reward it for its excellent work alongside Mike Maignan’s partners.
