Real Madrid are looking to sell their Serbian striker Luka Jovic according to AS.
Luka Jovic has become a problem for Real Madrid. One among many, because the reshaping of the workforce that the club is trying to effect in a context of global crisis in the world of football, presents enormous obstacles.
One of them is to find an outlet for the Serbian striker and to do it at a good price. It will prove to be a complicated task, as Jovic has been far from his best pace for two consecutive seasons, despite Madrid being confident that acceptable offers will come for him.
Jovic cost Real Madrid 60 million euros in the summer of 2019. The Serb (born in Bosnia) was a big bet considering his age. He joined Madrid when he was just 21 after a strong 2018/19 season at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 27 goals this season alone. Jovic signed a six-year contract until 2025 with a net salary of 5 million euros per year.
Not to miss
Saving on these fees would no doubt help Madrid, at a time when they need to cut costs in order to generate income for the main priority: Kylian Mbappé. As for the striker’s selling price, Madrid are said to be content with 40 million euros, a figure that today seems high for Jovic.
His current value on Transfermarkt is only € 20million.
Sale of Jovic depends on André Silva Nonetheless, Eintracht Frankfurt has expressed interest in considering buying him back at a lower price. But in order to do that, they must first make room for it and raise funds.
The potential sale of André Silva, who stood out last season with 29 goals and ten assists in 34 games, would improve the club’s cash flow.
