The latest rumors from Germany point to an interesting turnaround in the Jovic case.
Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly looking to divest star striker André Silva and have set a price tag of € 40m for the 24-year-old, who provided 29 goals and 10 assists in 34 games last season, according to AS reports. .
A crossover to be expected this summer
With the money generated from the sale of the Portuguese striker, Frankfurt are planning to make an offer to Real Madrid for their former player, Luka Jovic. After his € 60million transfer to Madrid in 2019, Jovic returned to Frankfurt on loan in January.
The 23-year-old Serbian striker started off brilliantly, scoring three goals in his first two moments of play. But that shine didn’t last long, with Jovic only managing one more goal to bring his tally to four goals in 18 games.
Jovic asked Madrid for a loan assignment in January as it had been used very little under Zinedine Zidane. His friend Filip Kostic convinced him to return to his former team where he played from 2017 to 2019. And it was precisely Kostic himself who provided Jovic’s first two goals on his return. For his part, Kostic, who has enjoyed good form for a few months, is offered to other clubs by his agent.
Frankfurt is currently going through a delicate situation with big changes at the top: its chairman, Fredi Bobic, is stepping down, while coach Adi Hütter has already been named Borussia Mönchengladbach’s next coach.
The Bundesgliga roster would be in favor of a trade between Jovic and Silva, depending on how much Real Madrid are willing to pay for the latter.
