At the end of the contract on June 30, Sergio ramos still has not initialed a new lease with Real Madrid. PSG and other big European teams would therefore like to get it back at the end of the current season. Florentino Perez, the president of the Madrid club, commented on the situation of his 35-year-old defender.
Huge differences between Real and Sergio Ramos?
Arrived since 2015 from Sevilla FC against 27 million euros, Sergio ramos could turn an important page in his career by leaving Real Madrid at the end of the current season. And for good reason, at the end of the contract next June, the Spanish international is slow to agree with the Madrid management on the terms of a new engagement. Indeed, the ABC media reveals that the 2010 World Champion refuses to accept the pay cut requested by his leaders as part of an extension.
With the financial crisis that has hit the football world since the advent of the Covid-19, Florentino Perez wanted his captain to accept this sacrifice in order to be able to offer him to continue his adventure at Real. A final offer of a one-year contract with a 10% pay cut was therefore sent to Sergio Ramos who immediately rejected him.
Especially since Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus Turin would be ready to offer him the contract of his choice in order to secure his services. A trend clearly confirmed by the first person in charge of Real Madrid who does not exclude any option for the future of the former teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Florentino Pérez pessimistic for Sergio Ramos
Present on the set of the show El Chiringuito, Florentino Perez took stock of the Sergio Ramos case. And the president of Real was rather vague concerning the future of the protégé of Zinedine Zidane.
“I love Sergio Ramos, but we are in a very bad financial situation, no one is putting the money in and we have to be realistic, we are all in terrible trouble. He has not agreed to lower his salary this season. I didn’t say he would leave the club. Lots of things can happen. We are thinking about finishing the season first and then we will think about it at the end of the season ”, explained the 74-year-old Spanish businessman.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and PSG will therefore have to wait a little longer before being definitively fixed on the fate of Ramos.
