Officially presented on Thursday as a Real Madrid player, David Alaba announced that he wanted to play alongside Varane, who could leave.
David Alaba (29) made it clear when introduced to Real Madrid that he hopes to be on the pitch alongside Raphael Varane with the Spanish club for the coming season.
“Of course I would like to play with Varane,” said the Austrian.
Problem, the French central defender is announced on departure, after Sergio Ramos free party on the side of PSG. In recent weeks, rumors of a summer change have become more and more insistent.
Manchester United in particular is closely associated with the 2018 world champion who has a one-year contract with the Merengue. An official offer from England for Varane is expected in the coming days.
Alaba: “Varane has exceptional skills”
The fact that Varane is coveted by a top club comes as no surprise to Alaba: “He has been playing excellent football for years, not just recently,” said the former Bayern Munich left-back. “He’s a great defender and has exceptional skills,” Alaba added.
Alaba left Bayern for Madrid on a free transfer this summer and took the opportunity to pick up No.4 from Sergio Ramos. Varane arrived in the Spanish capital in 2011 at the age of 18 from RC Lens but appears to have toured the owner.
