Real Madrid are keen to release Gareth Bale during the next offseason, so as not to have to pay his salary.
Gareth Bale, the experienced Wales winger, recently expressed his willingness to return to Real Madrid next summer to honor the last year of his contract. This wish, however, is anything but mutual. The leaders of the Spanish giant are not very keen on the idea of recovering their former star. And for good reason ; this would seriously impact their finances.
Bale reportedly cost Real Madrid € 15m
By taking over Bale during the summer transfer window instead of releasing him definitively for the benefit of another club, Real will have to pay the sum of € 15m. It simply equates to the player’s salary at the Bernabeu. According to the daily El Confidencial, the Madrilenians would seek to avoid this big constraint at all costs.
The only solution available to them is therefore to sell it. Tottenham, where Bale is on loan this season, would not be a candidate in this regard. Spurs and their coach José Mourinho are more than disappointed by the performance of the Welsh international.
