Former emblematic player of the club, Radhi Jaïdi arrived in Tunis to become the new coach of Esperance.
In search of a coach since the departure of Mouine Chaabani last month, Esperance de Tunis touches the goal. The lucky one is none other than Radhi Jaïdi (45 years old). Appointed at the beginning of the year as assistant coach of the Cercle Bruges, the former house player (he wore the colors blood and gold between 1992 and 2004) arrived in the Tunisian capital on Wednesday.
If some details remained to be settled, a global agreement existed between the 2004 African champion and the Esperanto leaders. Things have come unblocked in the last few hours. A two-year contract is mentioned for the one who previously coached in England (Southampton U23) and the United States (Hartford Athletic) after having made a career in the Premier League, at Bolton, Birmingham City and Southampton.
