Home Champions League PSG with Verratti and Florenzi but without Marquinhos

PSG with Verratti and Florenzi but without Marquinhos

While we believed his absence was certain, Marco Verratti is finally in the squad to face Bayern. Marquinhos is too short.

PSG welcomes Bayern on Tuesday evening on the occasion of their Champions League quarterback. For this great continental shock, the Ile-de-France residents will record the return of Marco Verratti to competition. On the other hand, Marquinhos is indeed package despite the remarks made by Mauricio Pochettino at a press conference. Paris Saint-Germain released their group this Tuesday at noon without the Brazilian and with the two Italian internationals.

Kimpembe: “Eliminating Bayern, that would be great”

The Argentine technician had given hope to the supporters of his training: “I do not know yet if he will be there. We will see tomorrow (Tuesday) how he feels. In theory, he could be in the squad, not to start but to enter during the match. We will decide tomorrow”. A hope that did not last too long since the decision not to retain “Marqui” was taken shortly after. The Brazilian did not participate in the training of the day at Camp des Loges.

As a reminder, Marquinhos was injured at the Allianz Arena just after scoring his team’s second goal. The subsequent medical examinations were not really reassuring with a lesion detected in the right adductor. An unavailability of three weeks had even been mentioned on Saturday by L’Equipe.

Marquinhos still too short to resume

Paris will therefore have to do without its central rear. On the other hand, Verratti will therefore be operational, even if it will most likely not be the holder. In any case, his presence in the group is assured. Pochettino focused on his case and that of Alessandro Florenzi at a press conference: “In principle we haven’t decided on the team. Marco, it seems difficult to see him start and Alessandro, we have to analyze that tomorrow”.

In addition to Marco Verratti, PSG also records the return of Abdou Diallo. Another good news, because the former Monegasque can help out at several posts behind. Finally, the Parisian coach confirmed that Mauro Icardi remains forfeited because still not recovered from his concern in the thigh.

The PSG group: Keylor Navas, Sergio Rico, Yanis Saidani – Mitchel Bakker, Abdou Diallo, Timothée Pembélé, Presnel Kimpembe, Alessandro Florenzi, Colin Dagba, Thilo Kehrer – Rafinha, Ander Herrera, Idrissa Gueye, Daneanilo Pereira, Abdouldaye Kamara Paredes, Marco Verratti, Pablo Sarabia – Neymar JR, Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappé, Moise Kean, Kenny Nagera
