Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana no longer wishes to join Olympique Lyonnais.
Announced as the Gones ‘next rookie and Anthony Lopes’ new competitor in the cage, André Onana would no longer be very hot to sign with the Rhone team. An about-face that no one saw coming.
Onana sees bigger than Lyon
According to From Telegraaf, the Cameroonian international has received in recent days requests from clubs more upscale than OL and this is what led him to change his mind. He would even be ready to wait until next January to join freely in the team of his choice, and also earn a nice signing bonus. As a reminder, in the past, the Indomitable Lion had been courted by FC Barcelona, Chelsea and PSG.
The news must necessarily displease Lyon officials. The latter believed the deal was concluded after reaching an agreement with Ajax, for compensation of € 6 million, and also with the player’s representatives. In vain. Their plans are thwarted, and they will have to quickly find an alternative solution. Unless they decide not to recruit for this position and continue to trust Lopes.
