The sporting director of Sevilla FC has given a clue to the future of the Real player.
Sergio Ramos has been linked with a return to his former club Sevilla in recent weeks, but wherever he goes the point is that the center-back will have to take a pay cut, if not a very big pay cut if he returns to Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Sky Sports Asked Sevilla sporting director Monchi about the 35-year-old’s chances of a return and here is his response: “He’s a Real Madrid player. I think he’s in talks to stay at Real Madrid right now, that’s all I can say about it right away “.
Monchi has also dismissed rumors that Sevilla are interested in signing a number of Serie A players such as Gian Marco Ferrari or Samu Castillejo.
Not to miss
“Ferrari is a very good player and he is a part of a great team; I guess you ask me about him because the press wrote that we were interested in taking him. Every day they post about 30 or 40 names of players that we are supposed to want to sign, but there is nothing in it. We have a lot of players in the position of Castillejo – Ocampos, Suso, Rony Lopes, Papu Gómez … so again he doesn ‘ there is no truth in that “.
Finally, much is expected of Papu Gómez next season although in Italy it has been suggested that the Argentina midfielder, who joined Sevilla from Atalanta in January, could return to Serie A.
“He is happy here and we are very happy with him. His odyssey with Sevilla has only just begun.”
