The Marseille goalkeeper could face competition from a completely unknown goalkeeper next season.
Marseille management no longer considers Steve Mandanda a long-term option for the goalkeeper position. The idea, for the coming season, is to bring in a number 1 bis to compete with him during his last moments at the club before definitely initiating the passage of witnesses. And the one who could occupy this role of successor is a Ukrainian who has never yet played at the highest European level.
A real disavowal for Mandanda
The Marseille target is called Georgiy Bushchan. He is 27 years old and he wears the colors of Dynamo Kiev. Of course, he is also international and is referred to as the heir to veteran Pyatov in his country, but his feats of arms on the continental scene are non-existent. Mandanda, with an exceptional career, should be offended to see his status called into question in this way.
Bushchan is not the only goalkeeper OM are thinking of. The tracks leading to the German Alexander Nubel, the Italian Alessio Cragno and the Spaniard Joel Sanchez were also explored internally.
