A former Manchester United has encouraged the English club to pay for the services of French defender Raphaël Varane.
Manchester United are expected to abandon their interest in Hammer Declan Rice and do everything possible to sign Raphael Varane according to former midfielder Nicky Butt.
The Red Devils are said to be in the best position to sign England international from West Ham right now. Former United midfielder Butt, however, believes they already have enough options in the midfield and it is best to go looking for a great center-back instead.
“For me, next season must consist of going to garnish the trophy cabinet”, said Butt, who was responsible for United’s first-team development before leaving the club in March. “It’s about having the right players who will allow you to compete for the trophies. This is a club that aims for glory, so we cannot go that long without trophies.”

“I think Man Utd are pretty solid in the midfield. I always hear things about Declan Rice but is he a better player than Scott McTominay? I’m not sure; I think with McTominay, Paul Pogba and of course Bruno Fernandes, we are well equipped in the middle of the field “, continued the ex-England international.
Butt thinks it’s the central defense that MU needs to strengthen as a priority. The Red Devils have had Varane in their sights for a while and recent rumors have suggested that Los Blancos have rejected an offer from Old Trafford. The former Mancunian therefore considers the French international as the ideal option for this sector to be associated with Harry Maguire. “The most important thing Manchester United have to think about this summer is this central-backing position; we need a supplement for Harry Maguire”, he added. “Everyone’s talking about Raphael Varane. I understand he’s a little older than most people might like, but it’s enough to go back to the days of Teddy Sheringham. I think we have it. bought when he was 32, and we went to win the treble with him. If Varane is available, then I will do anything to enlist him. “ Will Mancunian leaders listen to this advice?
