Still looking for a central defender, the Red Devils have reportedly entered “Advanced negotiations” with Raphaël Varane.
According to information from the Spanish press, the Manchester United club are in “Advanced negotiations” with Raphaël Varane and the player’s representatives. Guest on the set of the show El Chiringuito, journalist Jose Alvarez has revealed that the Frenchman is now the number one target for the Red Devils, who are still looking for a defense partner in Harry Maguire for next season.
Linked to Real Madrid until 2022, Varane could pack his bags this summer to replenish the coffers of the Spanish club, which should sit on a big check if the 27-year-old defender leaves the following season. Currently estimated at around 70 million euros, Raphaël Varane could leave for less according to the Spanish journalist because of the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. His future may depend on that of his teammate Sergio Ramos, whose contract expires next June. In the event of his captain’s departure, Varane could also have desires elsewhere.
