According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are said to be ready to include their midfielder Donny Vyear of Beek in the transaction to recruit French defender Real Madrid, Raphael Varane. According to the Spanish daily, the Mancunians would offer the Dutch midfielder to Madrid in order to lower the price of Varane, which has a market value of around 70 million euros.
Manchester reportedly seek to include Van de Beek in Varane move
Manchester United want this summer to acquire the central defender of Real Madrid, Raphaël Varane, who seems to want to leave the Spanish club after ten seasons. However, the English club is not ready to pay the sum requested by Florentino Pérez, namely 70 million euros. The Red Devils would therefore seek to include one of their players in the transaction in order to reduce the amount of the transfer. It was on Donny Van de Beek that their choice fell. Long courted by Real Madrid, the Mancunians had managed to recruit the Dutch Ajax last year. According to the Spanish media, the transfer of the French defender would turn around 40 million euros. According to Mirror, Man United are reportedly considering a one-year loan from the Dutchman to Real Madrid, the club would be interested especially if there is a forward purchase option.
Man United would like to get rid of Donny Van de Beek
The Dutch midfielder would therefore serve as a bargaining chip for obtaining Varane next season. The 24-year-old is coming off a mixed season in England. Courted by very big clubs, Van de Beek then signed in 2020 to Man United, but never managed to win. Author of a goal in 19 Premier League games, the midfielder has very rarely convinced across the Channel and was quickly put on the bench. If the transfer were to materialize, the Dutchman could then revive in Spain.
