Vázquez is set to renew his current contract in Madrid, according to local media.

According to Iberian media, Real Madrid all-rounder Lucas Vázquez turned down an opportunity to join Atlético Madrid. If he does not stay in the Spanish capital with the Merengue, the Spanish player who can occupy several positions will probably go to AC Milan, as the newspaper indicates. AS.

Vazquez does not want to betray Zidane and Real

The Merengue player, who has often helped Zinedine Zidane in several positions this season, turned down the opportunity to join Atlético Madrid, his current club’s rivals.

As thus claim that Atlético sent a very correct proposal to the versatile 29-year-old, who thanked the Colchoneros for their interest, but ruled out a chance to join the club coached by Diego Simeone at the same time. The Galician does not see himself wearing the Atlético shirt after years of playing for Madrid, the club he has also supported since his childhood.

Vázquez is set to sign a three-year extension contract with Los Blancos, after an improved bid from Merengue from € 3.5m per year to € 5m. It was only if the negotiations failed that he would consider changing the horizon.

AC Milan was seen as a possible destination for Vazquez. The Rossoneri are the club that presented him with the most serious offer. The Serie A option could be tempting for Vázquez, although his main priority is to continue at Madrid even if economic conditions are worse than initially expected.

Sergio Ramos could also play an important role in the extension of Lucas Vázquez. The bond between the captain and the full back is strong. If Ramos ends up renewing his contract with Madrid, the signing of the seasoned veteran could follow. If that doesn’t happen, it paves the way for him to end up in Milan.
