Lille struck a big blow in the title race by winning the poster for the 31st day of Ligue 1 against Paris Saint-Germain (1-0), Saturday at the Parc des Princes.
Lille returns to the summits. Dislodged from first place by Paris Saint-Germain before the international break, Christophe Galtier’s LOSC won this Saturday against the Parisian rival (1-0), at the Parc des Princes, during the shock of the 31st day of League 1.
Without success during the last two days, the northern club made the difference on a strike from the right of the Canadian striker Jonathan David slightly diverted (20th), on a center right side of Jonathan Ikoné. Dominating but hardly inspired offensively, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have never been able to deceive the vigilance of a solid Lille defense. The two teams played the last ten minutes for the expulsions of Neymar and Tiago Djalo.
With 66 points, Lille takes the lead and is three lengths ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, now turned to their quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday. The Mastiffs keep four points more than Monaco, easy against Metz. Fourth at six points, Olympique Lyonnais travels to Lens from 9 p.m.
