Recruited last winter to compensate for the long injury of Virgil van Dijk, Ozan Kabak did not convince Liverpool to exercise their purchase option.
Arrived from Schalke 04 on February 1st, Ozan Kabak had joined Liverpool in order to strengthen a Reds defense decimated by injuries. Three months later, the experience is not conclusive and Jürgen Klopp is said to have decided to send the defender back to Germany.

Since arriving at Anfield, Ozan Kabak has appeared thirteen times in the jersey of his new team. His loan was accompanied by a non-compulsory purchase option estimated at € 20 million. With the various assorted bonuses, the cost of a final transfer could even have risen to € 30 million. A crippling sum for Liverpool, as claimed The Sun.
Jürgen Klopp would be much more interested in recruiting Ibrahima Konate (RB Leipzig). For this, the Reds will be forced to shell out € 40m. A budget which should therefore put a definitive end to the adventure of Kabak, who will return to Schalke, also relegated to the Bundesliga 2.
