Loaned this season to RC Lens by Amiens, Gaël Kakuta was able to convince the northern club to keep him in his workforce and to exercise his purchase option.
Promoted to Ligue 1 this season, RC Lens was able to count on the services of Gaël Kakuta to finish in a beautiful seventh place. On loan from Amiens, the twenty-nine-year-old worked so well that the Blood and Gold have decided to keep it permanently by exercising his purchase option. Coveted by clubs like Stade Rennais, the Congolese international will therefore continue the Lensoise adventure.
The northern club indicates this Wednesday that Gaël Kakuta is now hired until 2023. The purchase option was set at 5 million euros by Amiens. Trained at RC Lens, before taking the direction of Chelsea and knowing a multitude of clubs (twelve, including this return to the fold), Kakuta will be able to settle down a bit and stay within the same club for more than one season.
