Youssofa Moukoko, the revelation of the season in the Bundesliga, will not play again for several months due to a foot injury.
Borussia Dortmund’s young revelation Youssoufa Moukoko saw his 2020-21 campaign end prematurely after sustaining a foot injury.
The 16-year-old has damaged ligaments and will not be available for the remainder of the Bundesliga season. The injury kept him from making a bit more of German football history, as he was to be the youngest player to represent the German Under-21 team in the recent international break.
German Under-21 coach Stefan Kuntz told reporters last month: “The injury is worse than initially feared. We have to let the healing process take its course. “
Borussia have now confirmed that the injury will prevent Moukoko from staying until the summer. In a statement, the BVB said: “Youssoufa Moukoko is out for the rest of the season with a ligament injury to his foot. We wish him a speedy recovery.“

Which Moukoko matches will be missed?
A Champions League quarter-final clash with Manchester City is the next step for Dortmund, who will visit the Premier League leaders on Tuesday.
They also have a German Cup semi-final to deliver with Holstein Kiel on May 1, which will give Dortmund a chance to make a final. There are also seven other Bundesliga games left and the vice-champions of Germany will have to give their all as they are not at all sure of finishing in the top four in the table.
Explosive pro debuts
Although he saw his season cut short by an injury in training, the young striker of Cameroonian origin has had an attractive campaign. He accumulated the records of precocity, with prolific exploits at the youth level until he managed to integrate the first team. He made his Dortmund debut at just 16 and scored three times for the seniors
He became Dortmund’s youngest debutant and goalscorer, with his achievement against Union Berlin.
His potential was highlighted in Goal’s NXGN roster for 2021, with Moukoko sitting 15th on the World Wonders list.
