The presence of Alf-Inge Haaland and Mino Raiola in Barcelona on Thursday caused a sensation.
The duo landed in Catalonia on the same flight but, oddly enough, left Barcelona’s El Prat airport separately.
A diversionary tactic that has served no purpose
According to photographer Jordi Galvany, working for Iberian media outlet RAC1, Raiola left first, hoping to be as low-key as possible and that the press would disperse and allow Haaland to leave in peace, but their plan did not work.
Raiola reportedly told Haaland to wait in the airport washroom to avoid the press, allowing the officer to gain full media attention. But, after his departure, the press remained in place.
Half an hour later, Halaland’s father appeared and got into a car waiting for him near the gate, but he couldn’t avoid being photographed.
As a reminder, Erling Haaland’s father Alf-Inge Haaland and his agent, famous Mino Raiola, spoke with Barcelona and Real Madrid on Thursday about a possible transfer of the superstar striker from Borussia Dortmund.
Alf-Inge Haaland and Raiola flew to Barcelona on Thursday morning for a 2.5-hour meeting with new Barca president Joan Laporta and the club’s new director of football Mateu Alemany.
The two men are now expected in England, to visit the facilities of several big English clubs and discuss with their leaders.
