Pep Guardiola will not have any feelings with Sergio Aguero in the C1 final.
Pep Guardiola will be “cold” with his Manchester City players when making his selection for the Champions League final.
Manchester City travel to Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday for the penultimate game of their triumphant Premier League campaign, before lifting the trophy in front of their fans against Everton on Sunday.
Sergio Agüero will be hoping to bid farewell to the Etihad Stadium faithful this weekend in his final home game before leaving at the end of the season after a decade at Manchester City, although the injuries that ruined the last season Argentinian striker in Manchester are back and will not make it to Amex Stadium.
“He’s got some worries. He’s a bit deranged in his leg, his adductor,” Guardiola said.
“He felt something before the Newcastle game. He is still not in good shape. I hope he will be ready to play against Everton.”
Sentiment could enter Guardiola’s thinking on the final weekend of the domestic season, but not in Porto on May 29, when City face Chelsea in a bid to win their first European trophy in 51 years.
“I would say I would be cold. I have to make a decision which is the best to win this game,” he said.
“If Sergio is in good shape, he’s going to help us for sure. If he wants to help us score goals, he’s going to play, but it’s the Champions League final.” And there, everything is said ..
