The Welsh international loves his selection so much that he doesn’t want to give it up, even without a club!
Usually, a footballer retires internationally and continues to play in clubs. But now Gareth Bale could do the opposite!
According to revelations from our British colleagues Mirror, the Welsh striker has reportedly told his entourage that he would like to retire in the summer of 2022, when his contract with Real Madrid will end.
But in this year 2022, Qatar will host the World Cup from November 21. However, Gareth Bale has never participated in a World Cup since the only participation of Wales in a final phase dates back to the 1958 edition, organized in Sweden.
Not to miss
Gareth Bale could therefore remain without a club and talk physically while continuing to play for his selection.
Currently, Wales are third in their 2022 World Cup qualifying group with 3 points in two games behind Belgium (7 points in 3 games) and Czechia (4 points in 3 games).
The Welsh fell 3-1 in Belgium before beating the Czech Republic 1-0 and in September they will face Belarus (on the 5th, in Minsk) then Estonia (on the 8th, in Cardiff).
The group winner will qualify directly for the World Cup finals, while the runner-up will advance to the play-offs. And it is this second place that the Welsh are aiming for since the first seems to be promised to Belgium.
