The departure of Sergio Aguero has greatly affected Micah Richards, who gasped when he heard the news.
The announcement that Sergio Aguero will leave Manchester City at the end of the season may not have come as a surprise, but it has not made it easier for fans, including that of former teammate Micah Richards.
The former Manchester City and England defender has explained how difficult it is to see Aguero leave the club after a historic decade.
“I was in a good mood Monday night, then the news took my breath away,” Richards wrote in the Daily Mail.
“I am devastated. It was my first reaction as someone who loves Manchester City and feels honored to have played alongside Sergio Aguero.”
Richards went on to explain that Aguero meant a lot to him personally and that he was a high class player on and off the pitch.
“Not only is he an amazing player, he’s an amazing person,” said Richards.
“Aguero is one of the most humble people you could wish to meet, I owe him a lot personally.
“For starters, without this man I wouldn’t be a Premier League title winner!”
For Richards, and arguably many others, Aguero will remain one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history and he underlined how much of a clinical finisher he is. “
“If I had to pick someone to score for my life, it would be Aguero, every time,” said Richards.
As a reminder, Sergio Aguero is at the center of a fight between several big clubs. PSG, Barça and Juve snatch the Argentine striker.
