Almost five years after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, David Luiz will return to Ligue 1. The Brazilian is close to signing up with a new club.
The rumor had surfaced just a few days ago. The information is confirmed a little more on Monday and now seems almost certain: David Luiz will make his comeback in the French championship. The Brazilian defender, free since the end of his contract with Arsenal, will engage with Olympique de Marseille.

A nice blow a priori for the Marseille club which recovers a player without having to pay a cent in transfer compensation. The arrival of David Luiz was announced on Monday by the Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida, well informed on the case. The latter even specified that the thirty-four-year-old would sign up for two seasons, until June 2023.

This recruitment choice is nevertheless a bet for Olympique de Marseille, since the player has largely disappointed with the Gunners, with particularly disappointing performances and chronic irregularity. However, his experience should be an asset for the Marseille club. All that remains is to wait for the officialization of the news and watch for the reaction of the supporters.
