New Madrid recruit, David Alaba made his first remarks under the merengue jerseys.
Real Madrid announced the signing of David Alaba on Friday. The versatile Austrian player joins club merengue as a free player from Bayern Munich, who admitted he only had eyes for Real Madrid. The 28-year-old had been at Bayern since 2008, when he arrived there from Austria Wien at the age of 16, and he explained why he chose Real Madrid as his destination.
“Real at the top of my list”
“I have been approached by many clubs, but Real Madrid were at the top of my list”, Alaba told Bild. “Like Bayern Munich, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world, with a particular history and tradition. Alaba is determined to replicate his success at Bayern in the Real jersey, and intends to treat himself to trophies at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. “There have been so many great players in the history of Real Madrid and so many great victories and trophies… I want to continue this success story with the club and the fans,” he noted. “It will be a new chapter in life for my family and for me. I want to grow personally and professionally, and that is precisely why I come to Madrid. “
