The seasoned Italian goalkeeper is about to commit to his debut club, Parma AC.
Return to the fold for Gianluigi Buffon. Exactly 20 years after leaving him, the experienced goalkeeper will return to Parma for what should be the very last experience of his career. According to Sky journalist Fabrizio Romano, the former PSG will sign a two-year contract with the formation of Emilia-Romagna.
The circle is complete for Buffon
Despite his advanced age (43), Buffon did not see himself hanging up his gloves following the expiration of his lease with Juventus. “I will continue to play because I feel good,” he told reporters on Monday when he was in his goalkeeper academy.
The 2006 world champion therefore finds his training club. It will of course not be with the same freshness as before, nor the same ambitions. Parma will perform next season in Serie B, having finished the red lantern of the Italian elite. As a reminder, Buffon had played for the Gialloblu between 1995 and 2001. He totaled 220 matches there, and also conquered the Uefa Cup in 1999.
