Karim Benzema posted a message on social networks where he thanked Zinédine Zidane following the latter’s departure.
Zinédine Zidane is no longer the coach of Real Madrid. The French coach’s second term at the Bernabeu has just ended. He is leaving his post and his departure certainly leaves no one indifferent to the Bernabeu and especially not Karim Benzema.
After learning of the departure of his compatriot, and while he was at Clairefontaine where he is preparing for the Euro with the France team, KB9 split a few very sympathetic words towards his now ex- coach.
“Thank you Frérot for everything you have given me both collectively and personally … I am proud and honored to have been able to move forward and grow with the man that you are. See You ”, he wrote on Twitter. The last sentence, which means “see you soon”, suggests that the two men could quickly find themselves in other skies. What if it was selection?
Along with Ramos, Kroos, Modric and Varane, Benzema is one of those who have evolved the longest under the orders of the 1998 world champion. He had a very special relationship with him. The eldest notably supported the player during the long sidelining experienced by the latter in selection.

Courtois and Kroos also thank Zidane
This week, in an interview with L’Equipe, Benzema explained in detail the role that Zidane had with him: “Zizou, with me, has always been sincere. Close and very sincere. When it’s okay, he tells me, but when it’s not okay, he tells me too! Always, in training, in match, it does not go through four paths. That’s why I respect him a lot, he’s always very direct with me. It gives me a lot of confidence on the pitch. He’s my trainer, but he’s like my big brother. He’s always been supportive of me, whether I’m good or not, and he’s been constantly improving me every year. “
Besides Benzema, other Merengue players have sought to express their esteem for Zidane upon learning of his departure. Toni Kroos and Thibaut Courtois are among them. “It has been an honor to have a legend like you as a coach. Thank you for what you have taught me, for the trust you have always had in me and for what we have won together. I hope we will meet again. I wish you the best! “, said the Belgian porter.
