Like his club and selection partner Marco Verratti, the defender has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 and will remain in isolation.
Paris Saint-Germain has a date with its history on Wednesday evening (9 p.m.). Opposed to Bayern Munich, the Ile-de-France residents find an opponent they know well in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League, since it is these same Munich who won in the final during the previous edition, in Lisbon (1 -0).
PSG – Di Maria returns to the burglary: “It’s going better”
However, Paris will not have all of its workforce to try to take revenge. Indeed, if Robert Lewandowski, hit in the knee with Poland during the international break, will miss the call on the German side, the French Champion will be deprived of two important elements, namely Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi.
Affected by the Covid-19, the first city has been announced forfeit for several days and is respecting its period of isolation. He was thus absent on Saturday, at the Parc des Princes, during the defeat against Lille (0-1). The second cited, contact case of his partner in club and in the Italian selection and also absent against LOSC, was not yet definitively fixed.
Alessandro Florenzi in turn forfeits
This Monday morning, it is now done. Paris Saint-Germain have communicated about the right-back loaned by Roma, and the news is not good. “Following the last Sars-Cov2 PCR test, Alessandro Florenzi is confirmed positive. He will therefore respect isolation and is subject to the appropriate health protocol. As a reminder, the player had been in isolation for a few days as a precaution”, wrote the tricolor club on its social networks. Alessandro Florenzi will therefore be forfeited against Bayern Munich.
It remains to be seen whether the two players have been able to risk contaminating other teammates in recent days … On the Paris side, the next tests carried out on the workforce will therefore be scrutinized with concern. To replace Alessandro Florenzi, Thilo Kehrer, although appeared in difficulty against Lille, could be aligned in the right lane. Colin Dagba, who came into play in the same match and trained at the club, could however be preferred to him. One thing is certain, it is a partially decimated PSG which will fly to Germany.
