Bayern-PSG (2-3): The heroic and victorious Parisians after a crazy match

Superb feat of PSG who won 3-2 in Munich against Bayern, defending champion and unbeaten in the Champions League since the arrival of Hansi Flick

It was only a quarter-final first leg of the Champions League but he has already entered the legend of the competition. Under the snow and freezing cold, Bayern Munich and Paris SG offered the football planet a spectacular match.

A crazy first half

Despite difficult playing conditions, Bayern Munich entered the match at 200 km an hour and from the second minute of play, Choupo-Moting, placed a header on the crossbar of Navas.

A minute later, Neymar stared at the Bavarian defense and delivered a sublime caviar to Mbappé which lit Neuer. The German goalkeeper had a hole and the ball ended its course at the back of the net!

PSG even thought to double the bet in the 12th minute on a goal from Draxler, started by Pochettino, but the referee rightly signaled an offside from Mbappé at the start of the action.

Heroic Marquinhos

It was only a postponement since in the 28th minute, Neymar, again, sent a delicious pass to Marquinhos, who remained at the forefront following a free kick. The Brazilian controlled and adjusted Neuer who could only see the damage.

The craziest thing about this goal was that Marquinhos was injured and he gave in to Ander Herrera two minutes later while Danilo Pereira slipped in central defense for Kimpembe.

As expected, Choupo-Moting scorer against PSG

Bayern were also not spared from injuries: Goretzka (33rd) then Süle (42nd) were respectively replaced by Alphonso Davies and Jérôme Boateng (42nd).

But PSG did not return to the locker room with two goals ahead. If Navas, as usual, had multiplied the parries (10th, 19th, 20th), he bowed in the 37th minute on a header from Choupo-Moting who victoriously took over a very good cross from Benjamin Pavard.
Keylor Navas, PSG

Keylor Navas, PSG

As announced by the whole world before the meeting, the former PSG player made miseries to his ex-teammates, perpetuating a nasty tradition. Note even that since the “Final 8” in Lisbon, last August, Choupo-Moting is the third player passed by PSG to score against the Parisian club in this competition after Kingsley Coman and Christopher Nkunku.

Mbappé crucifies Neuer

The second period started again on the same bases with a crazy rhythm, daunting conditions and a new actor: the Parisian Mitchel Bakker replaced Abdou Diallo.

And if the Parisians had been realistic so far, in the 52nd minute, Neymar then Di Maria missed a huge double opportunity.

Navas, always monstrous, repelled the attempts of Alaba (53rd), Pavard (53rd), Kimmich (58th). But on the hour mark, Navas bowed a second time. Following a stupid free kick conceded by Draxler, Kimmich dropped the ball on the head of Müller who beat the Costa Rican goalkeeper.

But this match being completely crazy, Mbappé only needed eight minutes to put PSG back in the lead on the scoreboard. The 2018 world champion stared at Boateng, pulled between his legs and Neuer, totally surprised, remained glued to his supports and saw the ball slip through his net.

Flick’s first defeat in the LDC

Bayern threw all its forces into the battle to avoid a setback at home but Kean (69th), Alaba (86th), Müller (87th) each failed in turn.

With this incredible success on Bavarian soil, PSG signed a resounding feat against Bayern Munich, defending champion and at the same time inflicted his first defeat on Hansi Flick in the Champions League since he took over the Bavarian club.

PSG therefore took a small option before the return match, next Tuesday, at the Parc des Princes.
