Arsenal’s hopes of bringing Martin Odegaard back appear to have taken a heavy blow.
Martin Odegaard returned to Real Madrid after his loan spell with the Gunners in the second half of last season. And the Norwegian has been rather to his advantage in Los Blancos’ pre-season fixtures, including providing an assist in his side’s loss to Rangers. But uncertainty remains around his future and rumors from Spain claim that he could be sold if he actually wants to leave.
Odegaard wants proof
However, it looks like Carlo Ancelotti wants Odegaard to stay. A meeting would even have already taken place. According to ABCAncelotti has already met with Odegaard to inform him that he is an “important” part of his plans and that he “will have opportunities” in the coming season. ABC clarifies that the player will probably want to see evidence from the Italian manager in the next matches which will take place before the transfer window closes, given how difficult it will be for him to dismiss Toni Kroos or Luka Modric from the starting XI.
