FC Barcelona’s offensive intentions in the next transfer market should prompt the Catalonia club to part ways with a striker.
Eager to recruit Dutch striker Olympique Lyonnais Memphis Depay, at the end of his contract next June, Barça have no intention of keeping Martin Braithwaite, according to newspaper information Sport. Confined to a replacement role in Ronald Koeman’s workforce, the 29-year-old Danish center forward would allow the Blaugrana to recover some money, provided that concrete offers arrive on the table.
Purchased in February 2020 for 18 million euros and under contract until June 2024, the former Toulouse Football Club footballer has a market value set at 9 million euros according to Transfermarkt. Author of 7 goals in 36 matches in all competitions since the start of the 2020-2021 financial year, for 2 goals in 24 La Liga games, the native of Esbjerg has to be content with a few entries into the game in recent weeks.
In parallel with the Memphis Depay case, FC Barcelona is also targeting Erling Haaland. On Thursday, the agent and father of the Norwegian striker Borussia Dortmund arrived in the Catalan city to chat with President Joan Laporta. But the management of the BVB did not budge and reiterated its desire to keep the 20-year-old gunner.
