Toni Kroos was injured in the German selection and this seems to be the case for another Merengue midfielder.
Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde did not participate in training and trained in the gym as a precaution on Tuesday due to leg discomfort.
Real Madrid players who had no international commitments resumed training on Tuesday afternoon.
Toni Kroos, Thibaut Courtois, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Ferland Mendy, Luka Modric and Andriy Lunin all called up by their respective national teams.
However, Kroos will return to the Spanish capital after withdrawing from the German squad due to a hamstring issue.
Mariano Diaz and Alvaro Odriozola worked both in the gym and on the pitch, while Eden Hazard and Dani Carvajal continued with their respective recovery processes.
For his part, Valverde has plenty of time to fully recover ahead of Real Madrid’s next La Liga game against Eibar on April 3 at 4:15 p.m. CET at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano.
As a reminder, Real Madrid star Toni Kroos will be absent for Germany as they begin their journey to reach the group stages of the 2022 World Cup.
Germany start their qualifying campaign with three Group J matches against Iceland, Romania and North Macedonia.
But coach Joachim Low will have to do without his midfielder as he suffers from a groin injury. Kroos, moreover, left the German gathering to return to Madrid.
“Toni Kroos had to leave the team due to an adductor problem, the German federation said in a statement posted on social media. He will leave the team’s hotel to return to Spain.”
Germany also wished their star a “speedy recovery” by returning to his club.
